In August, I started in a new role as the Florida GRAMMY U Representative, becoming the point person for over 400 members throughout the state. My role is to organize artist soundchecks, chapter events, and national events including a GRAMMY week masterclass, fall summit, and annual conference. As a member of the editorial committee, I curate a monthly playlist and accompanying GRAMMY.com article which features all student artists and a new theme each month. I have also taken on additional responsibilities such as suggesting website updates and ideas for partners to integrate with the GRAMMY U brand.
As the Florida Chapter Membership & Industry Relations Intern at the Recording Academy, I completed administrative tasks such as scheduling committee meetings and organizing membership data. I assisted in coordinating events such as work events such as a songwriter panel with Poo Bear, the annual Florida Member Celebration, and a GRAMMY U masterclass with Jacob Collier and Jessie Reyes during Grammy Week in Los Angeles. I also led a team of volunteers and managed check-in at the 2023 GRAMMY U Conference in collaboration with Nike in Miami. This experience has been full of mentorship and growth, and I am so grateful!
During my internship at the ICA, I traveled to Reno, NV to assist with logistics at ClarinetFest which features performers, vendors, researchers, educators, and clarinet enthusiasts from around the world. I was responsible for managing the registration desk, answering questions, and ensuring lectures, exhibits, and performances ran smoothly. In addition, my roles included managing membership data and marketing via email newsletters, podcasts, print, and social media. This fall, I had the opportunity to collaborate with Buffet Crampon on releasing the ClariMate, an innovative digital mute system for Bb and A clarinets. After beta-testing this product, I flew to Paris this October to shoot the following instructional video with the team. Check it out!
